Family Trip To Deosai Skardu 

Deosai is a high-altitude plateau located in Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. It is situated at an average elevation of 4,114 meters (13,497 feet) above sea level and covers an area of approximately 3,000 square kilometers.

Deosai is called the “Land of Giants” due to its vast, flat expanse and the presence of Himalayan brown bears, which are among the largest predators in the region. The name “Deosai” itself is derived from the Urdu words “Dev” (giant) and “Saai” (shadow).

The best time to visit Deosai is during the summer months, from June to September. During this period, the weather is milder, and the plains are covered with colorful wildflowers, creating a picturesque landscape. The rest of the year, Deosai is often covered in snow and can be inaccessible.

Four-wheel-drive vehicles are recommended due to the rugged terrain. Visitors should be prepared for high-altitude conditions and obtain necessary permits before entering the area.
